I'm Ayo. I've been teaching English in Türkiye for years — through play in kindergartens, through conversation with adults. One rule holds for both: if a sentence came out of your mouth, the lesson worked.

Two different worlds, one teacher
A five-year-old and an engineer preparing for IELTS cannot take the same lesson. So I keep them apart.
How I teach
Three rules. They hold for a five-year-old and a thirty-five-year-old alike.

Ear first, book second
You cannot speak what you cannot hear. Every lesson opens with listening. Grammar is just naming what your ear already knows — not the other way round.

A conversation, not a class
Children think it's a game, adults think it's a chat. Both end up speaking English. A bored student doesn't learn — it really is that simple.

Mistakes are the point
Students who stop speaking are students afraid of being wrong. In my lessons a broken sentence is progress itself, not an obstacle.
